WHAT'S THE PROCESS? HOW MUCH DO SESSIONS COST?
Pricing is the same for kid & family sessions as it is for senior sessions. When you reserve your session, you pay the initial Creative Fee of $650. Due up front to reserve your session. This does include a $500 product credit that you can use when it is time to purchase products. The other $150 is for my time spent shooting and editing. The creative fee that you pay up front does NOT include any digital images, as those are considered separate products. Some clients like to have digitals, while some prefer tangible products, such as albums, graduation cards, canvases etc. Other clients like a combination of digital and tangible products. Choose what works best for you!
Two to three weeks after your session, you will be sent a link to view your gallery. These images in your gallery have been culled and edited (color enhancement, blemish removal etc). Once you view your gallery, we begin the ordering process. Most clients like to have an ordering session at my office, so they can see all of the products and sizes while they are ordering. While this is highly recommended, it is not required.
Please note that when it is time to purchase products, there is a $500 minimum (which you would have already paid with your Creative Fee). spryART offers all kinds of amazing products to color your walls and life, from canvases, to albums, to graduation cards, to prints on metal. I highly encourage anyone interested to stop by my office to look at the products in person sometime before the session. The full pricing and product catalog can be found here.
Where should we have our session?
This is entirely up to you! It depends on what kind of look and feel you want for your session. Remember, ask your family. Give them a say! Something naturey? Something more urban? Maybe the beach is more your style. I love traveling to Galveston for shoots - gorgeous light and locations. I have traveled as far north as the ice glaciers of Alaska, and as far south as the beaches in Mexico for photo shoots. If you have a family property in the country that you like - let’s go! I would love to shoot your family at meaningful location. Imagine the smiles!
WHEN SHOULD WE HAVE OUR SESSION?
I generally like to shoot in the "golden hour," which is the last hour and a half before sunset. The light is warm and flattering. During midday, when every ray of the sun seems to find its way to our delicate, overexposed skin, the shadows created are usually too deep in contrast to the glare. Instead of fighting the harsh light, it’s better to schedule outdoor shooting during the Golden Hour when the sun still works its magic—but in our favor.
I’ve noticed some night shots that I really like. Can we do some of our shoot after dark?
Yes you can! I love night photography when the lights in the background create a beautiful backdrop. We would just need to discuss and arrange it before your shoot, as special equipment is required that I would not normally bring to a shoot.
Do you offer mini sessions?
Yes, I offer mini sessions at a warehouse studio in Houston. It has a unique, funky, urban vibe and is perfect for anyone wanting a shorter, climate controlled session. Read more about mini sessions here.
